Summary: The Rotary Club of Anchorage seeks funding to establish a Rotaract Club in collaboration with the University of Alaska Anchorage, benefiting young professionals by providing opportunities for leadership development, community service, and global engagement

The Rotary Club of Anchorage seeks this district grant to establish a Rotaract Club in collaboration with the University of Alaska Anchorage. This initiative presents an exciting opportunity to address the challenges posed by the outmigration of a younger workforce across Anchorage and Alaska while simultaneously invigorating Rotary membership among young professionals. Young professionals need networking with those hiring, professional development and education, career coaching, and social and cultural engagement opportunities. Funds will be used throughout the 2024/2025 award year to support socials and networking events to raise awareness of Rotaract and ensure the club's successful launch. More specifically, funds will support recruitment and outreach efforts, club administrative needs (printing, office supplies), club marketing materials and promotional items, training needs, and any items necessary to launch inaugural service projects.

At its core, establishing a Rotaract Club aligns perfectly with Rotary's overarching goal of fostering world understanding, goodwill, and peace through service, education, and community engagement. By providing a platform for young adults to actively participate in meaningful service projects, leadership development, and professional networking, we aim to cultivate a generation of compassionate and globally-minded leaders dedicated to positively impacting their communities and beyond.

Supporting young adults through the Rotaract Club enhances their personal and professional growth and contributes significantly to community and economic development. Engaging young professionals in volunteer service opportunities addresses pressing social needs and fosters a sense of ownership and responsibility toward the betterment of society. Furthermore, by establishing mentorship programs that connect emerging Rotarians with seasoned Rotary members, we ensure the transfer of knowledge, skills, and values essential for effective leadership and sustainable community development. Seasoned Rotarians will likewise benefit through service to others as mentors, trainers and club advisors.

Moreover, the anticipated ripple effect of this initiative is profound. By instilling a culture of service and leadership among young adults, we anticipate the emergence of several small-scale projects across Anchorage annually, each contributing to our communities' overall well-being and prosperity. This sustained commitment to service enhances residents' quality of life and reinforces Rotary's mission of advancing goodwill and peace through tangible action.

In conclusion, establishing a Rotaract Club in collaboration with the University of Alaska Anchorage embodies Rotary's spirit and represents a strategic investment in our communities' future. We are confident that this project will address Rotary's current challenges in attracting young professional members and lay a solid foundation for sustainable community development and global impact.

Thank you for considering our proposal, and we eagerly await the opportunity to collaborate in bringing this vision to fruition.
