Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Placentia

Total Budget: $3,238

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Activity Type: Education: General

Summary: Provide backpacks filled with school supplies for students residing in under-served, at-risk neighborhoods of Placentia, CA

Approximately 100 students, grades 1 thru 12, residing inan at-risk neighborhood, and whose families are participants in an non-profit program known as LOT318. These families have agreed to help and encourage their children to draw away from gang activities, primarily through staying in school as well as challenging them to serve others.

Having the tools & supplies necessary to fully participate in the learning experience is fundamental to achieving success in school.

Club members will help purchase the backpacks and school supplies, then help to "stuff" grade-appropriate supplies, and to distribute the backpacks to each student.
