Project Description Country: USA Location: Poway Total Budget: $2,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: This grant will provide English classes and tutoring services for children in Mexico who do not have the opportunity to attend school. The Aloe Family provides English classes to kids from the community to get tutored. Some kids don't go to school because their parents didn't register them. Some go because they don't have anyone to help them with homework at home. Also, some of the remote communities only have teachers that come occasionally so they are not well educated. This money will go towards the tutors and learning supplies. The Aloe Family is a 501c3 nonprofit who is equipping future leaders to change cycles of poverty in their environments through healing, hope and community empowerment. Their programs give a hand up towards self sufficiency through skill building, relationship building, and hope. Our student programs involve tutoring, English classes, life skills, therapy, and apprenticeship programs.
