Project Description Country: USA Location: National City Total Budget: $1,000 Area of Focus: Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: Volunteer Services Summary: We are honoring our veterans and enlisted through a Salute to Veterans ceremony at Kimball Park on Veterans Day. National City is home to our military families with Navel Station San Diego at our footsteps. We are bringing the community together to recognize those community members who have served both past and present in the WWII, Cold War, Korea, Vietnam, Dessert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, Afghanistan. The Rotary Club of National City will honor those who have served and encourage family participation to represent their loved one in our celebration. The American Legion will assist with the honors, including honoring women in service, Filipino community, which is a large population in National City. We will generate income by sponsorships and fundraising events at the American Legion. We hope to establish an annual event and grow the celebration to bring help our local businesses in the area.
