Summary: Dictionaries provided to 3rd grade students in LISD school district Title 1 schools in Lewisville Texas
This project will provide dictionaries for 3rd grade students in Title 1 schools within the Lewisville School District. This provides students with an opportunity to use dictionary skills and literacy skills to further their reading and comprehension. Students in Title 1 schools are at a deficit for having books and resources available to them at home. The dictionaries provide a resource that will be available to them in school and at home. The project will begin immediately upon approval with the ordering of dictionaries and contacting schools to determine the number that will be needed. Completion will be late January. This project is completed by 6 to 8 Rotary members that go to each school to visit and distribute the dictionaries to the 3rd graders. This is a project that has been completed by Lewisville Morning Rotary for a number of years, and we still receive feedback from high school students who remembered receiving their dictionary and how exciting it was to receive it.

This project is "Approved". This means that the district leadership has reviewed and approved the allocation of district funds for this project. Once the funds from the district have been issued, the status of the project will be changed to "Paid".
