Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Emmett

Total Budget: $2,488

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Activity Type: Education: Literacy

Summary: Provide Dictionaries and 4-Way tests coloring books to 3rd graders in Emmett, Sweet, Garden Valley and Avimore schools.

Each fall, Emmett Rotary Club members visit schools in Emmett, Sweet, and Garden Valley to distribute dictionaries and Four-Way test coloring books to 3rd graders. During classroom visits, they also explain the Rotary Club's community work and discuss the Four-Way test. These dictionaries are valuable resources for students, both at school and home. The children eagerly receive their dictionaries, and teachers appreciate the program. Last year there were 340 total 3rd grade students in the schools we service. We are in the process of determining how many students there will be this year, but am preparing for as many as 400. We anticipate completing the project no later than October 15th.
