Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Nampa

Total Budget: $10,000

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Activity Type: Education: General

Summary: BGC2C Tech Center

This project aims to equip the Boys & Girls Clubs of Canyon County Teen Center located at Centennial Elementary with an up-to-date painted area and technology resources to support academic achievement, digital literacy, and workforce readiness for under served youth. The grant will fund the purchase of paint, laptops, tablets, printers, software licenses, and other necessary tech equipment for a clean and innovative area to enhance learning opportunities for over 400 teens annually with a daily average of 50 teens.

Many youth in Canyon County face limited access to technology at home, which creates barriers to completing homework, accessing educational tools, and developing skills critical for future success. By providing a modern technology infrastructure within the Club, this initiative will help close the digital divide and empower local youth to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital world.

The Boys & Girls Clubs will maintain and update the equipment as needed through its annual budget and local fundraising. Club staff will also receive training to effectively integrate new technology into existing programs.

Rotarians will assist with equipment setup and room painting, provide mentorship and digital literacy workshops, and help monitor project impact through periodic assessments.

Support for healthy, independent meal preparation.

A few things to improve your application: try renaming your grant to something more definitive, eg B&G Club Tech Center; TRF district grants are only paid to clubs - pls update payment info; provide a detailed spending plan (required of tier 3 grant applications) including vendor pricing where applicable. May be better to say you plan to provide x number of stations at a cost of $__ each, providing the vendor pricing to support the cost. We need to know why you're asking for the maximum grant award and your due diligence in pricing out the project will explain that. Grant app must be completed and signed by primary contact person and 2025-26 club president no later than June 1st. We'll likely not have enough $ to fund all requests making the diligence in clubs' spending plans critical.
