Boise Centennial Rotary has identified Basic Education and Literacy as one of its primary areas of focus. To continue building on the work done with previous district grants, we will once again partner with local schools to provide materials and resources to improve literacy outcomes in our community. We are calling this project, Celebrating Service Through Literacy & Learning.
To increase reach and impact, Boise Centennial Rotary will be partnering with the Idaho Network of Museums and Centers for Service to co-create inclusive materials that promote literacy and learning through the lens of service. These materials will include literacy resources and curriculum ($350), books ($1200) and a display ($750) that can be used at multiple schools.
Our goals are:
1. Provide children in the community with materials to improve educational outcomes
2. Spread Rotary's mission and dedication to service above self by creating community conversations with students and teachers
3. Engage Rotarians and community partners and schools in the co-creation of the exhibit and classroom materials
4. Create a sustainable model that can be reused in future years and across a range of school and community civic engagement
