Project Description

Region: Asia

Country: India

Location: Ichalakaranji

Total Budget: $30,000

Areas of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene, Basic education and literacy

Hygiene is very important for girl students in rural areas. The schools do not have proper facility and if they have, these are very dirty! It results in inferiority complex in the girls & dropouts from school. We have already provided 4 schools with modern hygienic toilets. It has resulted in girl students appreciating the facility & using it - should I say proudly!

We propose to have toilets at 3 schools with these funds. If interested, we may send photographs of completed toilets. Thanks

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
